To understand and address global change, Earthwatch supports scientific field research in ocean, freshwater, terrestrial, and urban ecosystems and on sustainable agriculture and forestry.

Through our participatory science model, Earthwatch supports research efforts to respond to global challenges, from climate change to human–wildlife coexistence to sustainable agriculture and forestry.

Data collected by principal investigators (PIs), working with citizen scientists, contributes to increasing scientific knowledge via peer-reviewed publications, and to supporting the development of management plans and policies that aim to conserve vital ecosystem functions and services.
